Calories In A Slice White Pizza With Broccoli

Texas Vives .2

We therefore end up by leaving our palace of the highway and very mineral Austin, towards the southwest and the Hill Country, supposedly a wonder of nature with breathtaking, where horses gallop freely on the hillside, raising a cloud of dust from which arises the Texas cowboy on his horse star (y 'five-pointed stars across Texas: one would think they are more loyal than the Prophet).

In terms of beautiful scenery, we find ourselves deep in the Ardeche: karst structure, heath, scrub, scrub, rivers, dry stone, goats ... and even caves! A nice trip despite the lack of exoticism. It reminded us of our childhood colonies.

After a break in the very overrated Bandera, we land in Rancho Cortez, a ten-thousand ranches in the region. For the horse in Texas is more a business than a passion: with Austin and San Antonio about an hour away, the Cowboys have an abundant and wealthy clientele. The thrill equine wholesales them.

The horses were well prepared, as usual. However, our luxurious tastes we had used in another class: the ranches of Arkansas and Colorado were real small luxury hotels nestled in the mountains. The food was delicious, authentic and cozy cottages, staff very nice and pro. Here, everything is fake: the cottage looks like a Super 8, cantoche meals reminiscent of the cowboys show surly. The price, he does not pretend. We do not ... we will resume

short, we are off again for San Antonio, Texas jewel, with its small canals authentic, strong and heroic Allamo typical English missions. We shoot in Downtown for for ages before finding the hotel. Hardly arrived, a cloud types we jumped on to park the car, we carry luggage, we open the door and unload one or two tickets. The hotel is well placed and pretentious, but the beds are super top. The famous Riverwalk is a kind of promenade channel that makes a loop around one kilometer, with bars and restaurants on both sides. Not too aggressive anyway: far from the Canebière or Mont Saint-Michel. We made a little boat ride fly very instructive: we learn that the canal was dug during the Great Depression by workers Works Progress Administration . The walk is a later addition whose purpose is to allow tourists to spend their money while watching the water flow. As it was not enough, they added a huge mall, hotels and monuments. That bucolic wish.

Fortunately, yaa a bar and you can see the Saints game against the Cowboys: the victory snatched from the rednecks from New Orleans on the golden boys of Dallas. The night the north wind rises and rushes into the streets of the city: the temperature drops 20 degrees. The walk turns digestive treck Japan. It transits back to the hotel. After a consultation
4 seconds, we decide to shorten Lamant these holidays and ruinous: we return the next day.
We can finally relax.

Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector Peak Level

Texas vibes

In Texas everything is big plos. Even the disappointments.

Filled with good intentions in these times of fiscal restraint (the word is out), we decided to take a vacation efficient: small loop motor in three stages in our neighbor Texas: Austin, Bandera and San Antonio. Austin monuments and small shops, Bandera for horses and San A for the Mexican influence. Alas, disappointment is across the state.

Not only the eleven-hour trip, the cockroaches of the hotel which happens to be by Highway, small déjeuders taste of warm water. It also Gastro rotating the sweltering heat, the wind dehorning cattle (given the size of longhorns, is saying something). It can still visit the museums closed, the history of junk. Historical, Texas heroes, cowboys of legend, let me laugh.

Everything sucks and infringed.

Austin first. Capital of Texas, a small city (1.8 million), is being vaunted weird, that is to say bizarre. Actually bizarre, Austin is a Democrat.

There is also a street full of bars or craignos Connections (6th) and a street full of shops or vintage chicos (South Congress). Population connected to Austin is composed of citizens from 20 to 30 years no matter how dressed, wearing no matter how or with lots of tattoos everywhere, or any combination of the three. We focus on South Congress, which also happens to be an artery where tributary 2x2 trucks, cars, buses and others. The pleasure of magazinage is significantly diminished. Especially since half the tribe wants to vomit, as the sun claps like a club, we do not plan to light clothing (well what, it is almost winter) and the wind hot and heavy we weigh the hair in the picture. It crosses twice the risk of our lives, we buy two or three things very dear and we leave winnowed.

It arises near the bridge of the classic bat: the little creatures are harmonious fly in clouds above the Colorado River at dusk. The day falls. Then the night. No bats.

By cons, mosquitoes, full.

The day before, had been zoned around the Capitol: another local pride (do you think, the biggest U.S. Capitol after the one in Washington). A big block pink neo-classic that sits atop a hill (oh yes, it's very steep Austin, it must be nice when there's no too many cars, wind or sun). Around the Capitol, other pies, but also more modern roses: pink granite everywhere. A bit of gray granite and black too, to add a touch tombstone.

Inside, good quality Mastoc Texan made to last. Dark wood, copper, stucco. We discover historical truths-cons such heroic war of liberation against the evil tyrant of Mexico. In fact, after the frigged the Alamo, the troops of the said Republic of Texas, widely supported by the United States, attacked the Mexican army by surprise during a nap. To commemorate this glorious battle, the Texans have erected the monument to the dead the world's highest. Youhou!

only consolation in Austin: the Barton Springs swimming pool, built in the bed of a small river
A Place peaceful, open, free, not unlike the idea one has of resorts Ukrainian Black Sea. It is well, you want to swim. We have no shirt. You do not look now, one starts at the end of the day: over an hour cap for returning to the hotel.
At Austin, was also deepened our knowledge of history:

and also our geographical knowledge:

Another thing very exotic for us from New Orleans him: all the guys who work in contact with the audience are white. All others are tawny: housewives, drivers, cooks (even Vietnamese restaurant!) And blacks? Has it not. Yet we are told there is a minority Afro-American in Texas ... That's weird!

Removing White Wine From Velvet Sofa

143 - "Our Island" Leaping Hermina with Maikel.

We decided to go back over a weekend and especially to spend the night. We will go this time with Edmond and Josy with whom we had already made a few trips in 2007.
http://docler.blogspot.com/2007/04/34-les-chutes-voltaires-bis-pques-2007.html
http://docler.blogspot .com/2007/11/59-le-surinam-e.html
They returned to Guyana for a month and are always willing to release.

Here's our program.

Depart by car to St Lawrence APATOU and, like last Sunday, we get Maikel before the Office of Tourism.
An hour and a half back to the dugout Maroni through two or three "jumps" (= fast) NASON up at the foot of the mountain of the same name.
Picnic en route to a village or on a sandbar in the shade.
Late afternoon and night on "Maikel Island.
Sunday morning walk through the forest to the creek "Cassagnan" for fish for Aymara.
Lunch on "our island", nap and swim.
Back Apatou.

Here is the summary in pictures.
The point of rendezvous.

We parked the car and we discharge our business ...

Boarding the canoe Maikel . His small company is called " TAPOUDAN TOUR "
06 94 22 99 15 (Guyana)
890 00 597 9014 (Surinam)

Leaving Apatou and police ...

Maikel left the bar to Hermann, a boatman in his village.

We meet many canoes. Plexi heel.

And speed, it's mind-blowing ...

True maze of rocks and small islands ... How do they navigate? It reminds me of the Gulf of Morbihan. You really have to navigate the corner. Indeed, sometimes they are confused and we saw a couple of wrecks canoe!

The Maroni is a real highway ... Everything is done by boat.

Travel ...

freight transport ...

This one is awfully loaded ...

The Fishing ...

Even dogs are part ... !

transport freezer ...

transport fuel ...

... sometimes intended to panning for gold, legal or illegal ...

transport of tourists ...

military surveillance ...

And do not forget the school bus on weekdays. Some children take the boat at 5:30 in the morning to get to Apatou and are back in their villages to 14.30.

Throughout our walk, we immerse ourselves in life on the River.

Children fishing.

Cleaning nets.

Dishes and laundry.

Preparation of sugarcane.

Panning for gold is also present on the Maroni.

The barge moves a lot of sandbars, which makes navigation more difficult.

It was destroyed by the French army as it was not legal.

Both engines in the village of Langatabiki (Surinam) are also intended for miners.

This barge is brand new and will start on the Maroni River in search of "good vein" of gold.
